ROBOT ROSEMERY UNY WAS 1st WINNER OF REGIONAL KRI DANCE

UNY won the 1st place in the 2nd Regional Indonesian Robot Contest (KRI) 2020 in the Dance Robot Division. KRI Regional 2 activities were carried out online on 9-11 October 2020 with the coverage of DIY, Central Java, East Java, Kalimantan and Sulawesi. The UNY dance robot, named Rosemery, performed a hornbill dance from the Dayak tribe of Kenya, East Kalimantan.

According to the head of the Rosemery team, Julizar Handi Wijaya, "For the preparation of the robot itself, it was prepared before the pandemic, but it stopped because it was locked down. After being allowed, we  researched it again,". To prepare for the 2nd regional competition the team started from designing clothes to programming the dance movements. Julizar admitted that when the competition they were behind other teams in the preliminary round, Uny was in 3rd position. But the team did their best to upgrade the Rosemery robot so that it could be better , and it worked. The hope is that next year UNY can maintain first place at the national level.

In addition to the first winner in the dance robot division, in this year's Regional KRI 2, UNY also managed to become 2nd place in the Wheeled Football Robot Contest and 3rd place in the Legged Football Robot Contest. (Dedy)
