UNY ROBOT ROSEMERY WINNER 1 REGIONAL 2 IN KRI 2020 COMPETITION

Yogyakarta State University (UNY) won 1st place in the 2nd Regional Indonesian Robot Contest (KRI) 2020 in the Dance Robot Division. The KRI Regional 2 activity was carried out online on 9-11 October 2020 covering the areas of Yogyakarta, Central Java, East Java, Kalimantan and Sulawesi.
UNY's dance robot named Rosemery performed a hornbill dance from the Dayak tribe of Kenya, East Kalimantan. The Hornbill Dance is indeed a dance that is a challenge for the KRI committee. In this competition, the Rosemery Team appeared stunningly so that the opinion of the award was the first winner.
With Rosemery's success in winning KRI 2020, it is certainly a very proud thing for Yogyakarta State University, especially the Electrical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering. Why is that? Because one of the members of the Rosemery robot team is a student of the Electrical Engineering Study Program. Leandra Okta Nur Pratama is part of the success of the Rosemery team.
Due to the pandemic, the robot contest, which was originally to be held in July 2020, was in doubt about its implementation. But finally the organizers informed that the competition was still being held but online in October 2020.
The preparations that are carried out start with the preparation of a quality team as well as preparation for the robot. For preparation, the robot has actually been prepared before the pandemic. "But it was stopped because of the lockdown, although after being allowed, we finally did research again," said Julizar, head of the Rosemery Team.
In preparation for the Regional 2 competition, the team started from designing clothes to programming the dance movements. Rosemery's journey to become a champion is also not easy, because she has to compete with superior robot teams from other campuses. Julizar admitted, when the competition was behind other teams in the preliminary round, which made UNY in third place. However, the team did their best to update the Rosemery to make it better in one night, and it worked. In addition to the dance robot division, this year UNY successfully won second place in the Wheeled Football Robot Contest and third place in the Legged Football Robot Contest.
