UNY SUCCESSFULY IMPLEMENTS PKM TO CLOSE THE QUALITY OF VOCATIONAL TEACHERS WITH THE DEMANDS OF THE INDUSTRAL WORLD

Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta has successfully implemented the Community Partnership Program (PKM) funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture. Prof. Ir. Moh. Khairudin, Ph.D, as the coordinator, has succeeded in compiling a robotics practicum tool kit module. This robotics tool kit module product was awarded to VHS in the field of industrial automation engineering, mechatronics, audio video and industrial electronics in Gunungkidul district.

In addition to providing lab tool kit module grants, PKM activities also provide assistance and training to teachers to ensure that the robotics practicum tool kit module can be implemented in R.I 4.0-based learning. Mentoring and training activities have been carried out on Friday to Sunday, 11-13 September 2020 in the Hall of State VHS N Wonosari. The event was attended by more than 37 representative teachers of SMK in Gunungkidul Regency who are fully supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Khairudin explained, the background of making this tool kit is because the state of Indonesia as part of a technological development entity is trying to ensure that its components are connected to automation and robotics systems and are integrated with IoT.

"The strategic step of connecting Indonesian society with the transformation of robotics and IoT can be effectively realized through the world and educational institutions and of course this is the biggest and hardest part of increasing the relevance of the world of education with the competencies that are desired in the industrial revolution era 4.0, namely automation and robotics integrated with IoT. he said.

"The excitement of increasing the relevance of automation and robotics techniques integrated with IoT in the world of education is not only at the higher education level, but must also reach secondary schools, especially SMK, as the spearhead of workforce preparation at the operator level," he continued.
